Living my best life...

On Vancouver Island - wow! what a place, with the ocean and peninsula all around the island. The southern section of the island is south of the Canadian border - and the views are actually of the Olympic and Cascades mountain ranges in Washington State. The Rockies are in view when you head north “up island”. From where I am, when I look west, my view is the Gulf Islands, Salt Spring Island, and on a clear day, snow peaked Mt Baker and the Cascades mountain range off in the distance… it's just breathtaking! Some days Mt Baker is hidden. Others, it’s in plain sight as in the photo below (just not in the video). The view is always changing with the clouds and weather. The ocean is such a big part of the vista - it's just surreal. Vancouver Island is a place that will always leave you in awe of its natural beauty - one of those "pinch me" kind of experiences that never tires.

The two images (above) are taken from the same place - the video captures the expanse more intimately.

The next video was shot from within the middle section of the panoramic image (below). It helps illustrate how beautiful it is when you are physically present in this environment.

These are just some iPhone shots - no retouching and no trickery. This is just the “super natural” beauty of British Columbia. And I won’t have to try too hard to enjoy living here. Sure, I’ll definitely miss my friends and the people I've worked with for years. Leaving a full, well-lived life behind is tough, but new experiences are important. Change is good, change is invigorating, and the people I've met here are all living their best lives. It’s clear to see - everyone appreciates the environment and they readily acknowledge the impact it has on their quality of life. My friends know they can visit anytime, with a place to stay. Maybe one day, everyone will move to BC - all the cool people at least ;-) That would truly be paradise!

If you like this blog post please let me now. I will continue updating it with my experiences here in the Cowichan Region. I’m blessed to be here.

Perhaps there is something you would like to feature… a story to tell… Please let me know. And visit my site for examples of what I can do for you.
